Rhapsody in Blue

reminds me of a poem i wrote awhile back with the same name ...

"rhapsody in blue"

behind these eyes

are shades of blue

a crazy painters palette.

cast from my mothers wellspring

mixed with a breath of blue vapor …

a silhouette hitching a ride on a gentle giant

that dives into swirling waves of cobalt

and surfs beyond to a distant galaxy

where thrust into winters frozen air

dances like spindrift on a sea of blue ice

while misty shrouds hide deep secrets

and the night thief steals away

with shadows on the blue horizon

and leaves behind a broken heart

shattered into a thousand sapphires

salty dew drops falling on a melting tarn

and cascading rills scattering all reflections.

o set me free of my misery!

then once in a blue moon

catches a sunbeam beneath the darkest zenith

and floats thru a window in the clouds

to see immense cerulean sky

where waits the royal gentian … summers trumpet

sounding the last hurrah

and autumns blue nectar

drips from lips and stains my fingertips.
