Whale Watchers
After 30 years of living in Washington we finally revisited San Juan Island ... but certainly not to climb mountains. On the contrary ... to try a whole new sport ... kayaking. And we love it! In continuous use since 1919, this little lighthouse has been photographed hundreds of thousands of times over the years, but still I had to take the shot. This was our first day on the island, and after setting up camp at nearby San Juan Island County Park, we headed here in the late afternoon hoping to spot some orca whales (like we'd seen years before). But, nada.
