2nd Burroughs

A quick shot from the 2nd Burroughs before heading over to the 3rd (on the upper right), and looking far below at the White River and Glacier Basin. The last time we did 3rd Burroughs we hiked up from the Glacier Basin trail ... hitting solid snow on that avy slope there just before topping out between the two. One time we camped on the shoulder of Mt Ruth on snow in late May ... we set up about midway on that long ridge just above the river on the left. And, then we also successfully climbed Rainier via the Emmons Glacier in 2007 ... from Glacier Basin, up the steep Inner Glacier, crossing over and dropping down onto the Emmons thru that notch just beyond Ruth's summit on Steamboat Prow, and then up to Camp Schurman where we based. It's always fun to gaze out from these view points around the Mountain and reminisce about where we've been, and dream about where we still want to go ... we always hoped to some day camp up on the Fryingpan Glacier at the foot of Little T (there on the far left).
