A Counterpoint To Al Gore's Nonsense
Al Gore has a new piece of propaganda tripe out now ... a documentary entitled An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth To Power. Here's a challenge to you Al: Come spend six months ... from November 1st to April 30th ... here in Newfoundland. Anywhere in the province would be good, but try to get a place here on the west coast.
I can guarantee you if he lasted the full six months, he would soon change his tune about global warming. I'm afraid he'd haul his fat ass out of here long before January ended, though!
If you're inclined to worry about inconsequential things, let me assure you of something: put the fear of global warming way down on your list! Its a fallacy! Rife with political overtones, cooked data, and fear mongering. In short, it just doesn't exist. As far as the big picture is concerned, the earth goes through normal heating and cooling phases. Always has. Always will. As far as the short term is concerned ... a lifetime of living here ... with access to well kept journals ... has shown me, as Paul (Michael Rapaport) said to Willie (Timothy Hutton) in the movie Beautiful Girls, "nothing changes in the Ridge but the seasons." And those seasons have minor variations from year to year ... but still the same year after year.
It's March 30th. There's a house hidden away behind that snow bank you see up there. Actually two houses.
