Happy Valentine's Day
Every once in awhile I step outside my comfort zone. Rarer than every blue moon, but not as rare as hell freezing over. Usually happens on Valentine's day as some of you who are familiar with my photostream have noticed. Trust me when I tell you, though, I'd much rather be building something in my woodworking shop.
Here's a few of the things that went wrong today: (1) Pans were not the right size ... too large ... but whatta ya gonna do when its too late to go get more? (2) Haven't learned how to get the tops of the layers perfectly flat. Well, I have, but too lazy to cut up strips of towel, wet them, and put them around the circumference of the cake pan before putting it in the oven. (3) Since the pans were too large, not quite enough filling. (4) That chocolate glaze wasn't quite runny enough ... wanted it dripping down more. Etc, etc, ... Oh well, it tasted pretty good ... and she liked it.
I saw this on the cover of a magazine back in December some time while I was looking for an Astronomy magazine. It looked pretty good and I thought I might like to try it, but I didn't buy the magazine. By time I went back to get it a month or so later it was gone. However, you can find anything on the Internet if you put in the right search words.
Hope you all had a nice day!
