Valentine's Day Desserts
As I've stated here before, I don't cook. Nor do I bake. However, I do like a challenge. So, every once in awhile I'll give it a try. The last time was Valentine's Day last year. You might remember my Raspberry Cream Heart from back then. :-) There's a photograph of it on here somewhere. Anyway, this year, I made an attempt at both cooking and baking. Main course ... Modenese Pork Chops ( allrecipes.com/Recipe/Modenese-Pork-Chops) with my own brine and brown sugar marinade, Side dish ... Lemon Green Beans with Toasted Walnuts (allrecipes.com/Recipe/Green-Beans-With-Walnuts) and Baked Potatoes ... and the Pièce de résistance ... Heart-Shaped Raspberry Napoleons (www.marthastewart.com/349924/heart-shaped-raspberry-napol...) and Sweet Chocolate Cherry Bombs (www.hungryhappenings.com/2011/02/valentines-day-dessert-s...).
I do believe I'll permanently retire from the kitchen after this. :-) If not, I'll definitely never make those Cherry Bombs again! Definitely ... definitely! Man, I don't know how those chefs do it! Keeping a dozen things going at one time! Anyway, she appreciated it ... so, mission accomplished. ;-) Plus, I did learn how to temper chocolate and make pastry cream.
This shot is a little late, but I hope you all had a great Valentine's Day!
