Russula atropurpurea - Purple Brittlegill

Found by Longshaw National Trust Fungi and Lichen Survey on 10 Sept 2015. The toadstools were so huge I wanted to check they were really Purple Brittlegills, so I took a small bit for detailed microscopy. For help with fungi ID join UK Fungi at fungi.org.uk/
