very reliable at the time in the 1960's.

Covered some areas.

like the Northsea, British home waters, etc.

This system was medium range and not operational.worldwide.

(unreliable at night in distant Northern European waters)

 

Dutch deep-sea trawlers, in the 1960's

equipment is fitted on most vessels

 

Dutch merchant navy ships, in the 1960's

fitted for the duration of the European coastal voyage only.

A couple of weeks at the most.

As Decca's Rental system was thought to be (very) expensive.
