Rev. Gary Ashcraft / all miracles done by Jesus
"Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth and good will to all men"! Like the angels, we have proclaimed it, believed it and sung it, but do we DO it? Ask yourself along with me today, "What is the greatest way that my life can bring glory to God and love to my fellowman?" The answer to this question is controversial to say the least, so let us narrow it to my perspective.
As Christians, we must endeavor to yield our members for the use of Jesus Christ. There is no higher glory than to glorify God with a surrendered life to His will and service to others. It is His utmost desire to reach humanity with the light of His glorious love and truth, but that will only happen if you and I avail ourselves for His divine will and purpose to be lived-out through us from day to day. Who is it that your life is supposed to touch today, or perhaps the better question is, who is it that Jesus Christ wills to touch through you today? When we determine in our hearts that we are not our own but His, then we will consciously be aware of opportunities to let Jesus shine and work through us as they present themselves. We call these opportunities "Divine Appointments", times when our hands become His own, when our smile, kind word or simple act of charity become the communication of His love to His most prized creation, humanity.
You have heard it said, "There's no higher compliment than imitation". Well, we could say here there is no higher way to glorify God than to let Him be God through you and I. For in offering ourselves in this whole-hearted way we both give "Glory to God", and "peace and good will to all men".
May God bless you and yours this Christmas and always,
Bro. Gary Ashcraft
