Linguistic Inquiry

The software looks up every word spoken by the candidates in the LIWC—Linquisitic Inquiry and Word Count—database. Developed by researchers, the database contains 4,500 categorically

organized words and allows analysis of emotional, cognitive, and

structural components in peoples' speech. Conclusions are drawn based on this data, about who uses the longest sentences, who is the most personable, the most vague, and the most emotional.
