Beginning the day with a bath... (male eastern bluebird)

I had just parked my car and cut the engine off when I spotted this little fellow playing in a nearby puddle. I sat and watched him for a few minutes having such a good time that I decided my mission for the day would be to capture him while bathing. I wasn't sure how he would feel about my intrusion into his private life, but he would just have to get over it. I was going to take his photograph in the "tub," so to speak, or else.

 

Unfortunately as I got out of the car, not only did he fly away but the wind blew my car door shut, locking my keys and camera equipment inside.

 

Not to be out done, I kept an eye on my bather and waved someone down for help.

 

By the time help arrived, he had flown into a group of trees and was now watching me.

 

Although I did have to walk a bit to finally "capture" him, I was successful. By the time I finally reached him, he was fully dressed in his finest attire and fluffed for the occasion, saving his dignity of being caught in the tub.
