The Avenue of a Hundred Fountains (Viale delle Cento Fontane) is located within the park of the sixteenth-century Villa d'Este in Tivoli (Rome, Italy), a UNESCO heritage site.
The entire avenue has around 100 fountains, developed on 3 floors, made up of lilies, eagles and obelisks, symbolizing the Estense family and allegorically tells the course of the 3 rivers that rise from the Tiburtini mountains, Albuneo, Aniene and Ercolaneo (represented by the 3 floors of the fountains) that flow into the Tiber river (symbolized by the Rometta fountain at the end of the Avenue).
