Trachymela are typically brown, elytra without distinctively seriate punctuation and usually with verrucae. Dorsal surface rugose, sometimes with whitish waxy dorsal bloom. Sizes ranging from 6-11mm.
From de Little's (1979) key and descriptions, this beetle is most likely T. papulosa - widely distributed and common in Tassie. Photographed in February, foothills of Mt Wellington, Hobart.
