A Devastating Earthquake & Tsunami hit Japan Yesterday... and Resonates around World...
Friday March 11 2011
Last night Craig and I were watching TV...
When @ 8:30pm a Civil Defence broadcast broke into the programme...
A terrible Earthquake and Tsunami had just hit Japan...
A Magnitude of 8.9 - the largest on record since records began 140 years ago!
We watched the continuous coverage unfold...
Broadcast live over the next 2 hours until we went to bed...
The destructive force and impact of the Tsunami was unbelievable...
As seen from Aerial views over the city of Sendai
I immediately thought of my Dear Flickr Friend Hiroko who lives in Oita Japan...
So I looked up on the map and was relieved to see she is in Southern Japan...
I sent her an email last night and was pleased to hear back this morning that she is safe!
My Shadow and I want you to know that you and your family and loved ones are in our thoughts!
A Civil Defence alert was put out for the Pacific Rim... Including New Zealand...
It is by no means expected to cause any danger down here...
but the aftermath effects of this Tsunami's terribly destructive force...
Are expected to be felt on our shores...
Nature.. with all Her Power and Her Beauty...
Can never be taken for granted!
I'm sorry I'm still not fully back on board with Flickr...Still have a bit going on right now that is keeping me away... Promise to catch up with you all as I can! Take care and have a lovely weekend! %-)
