Year 2011
Home-made 100 mW
Desktop Headphone Amplifier.
- ultra-low distortion buffer output
- multi-stage cascade low-gain amplifiers for a lower overall distortion
- parallel buffer stage to drive hi-current with reduced voltage noise and distortion
- mixed type opamp output configuration for a colorless amd balanced tonality
- double output impedance
- dual board, separate channel circuits
- fine regulated dual power supply
- Schottky rectifiers in power supply
- Non-Polar (NP) power supply electrolytics
- low quantity and low value rail capacitors
- 21 steps precise attenuator
- constant impedance volume attenuator
- star grounding design
- low noise DC offset null circuit
- three year project
- components brand and value empirically selected
- more than 30 releases before the schematic approval
§ LT1361 is sweet and clean (used here as buffer input and first amplifier stage)
§ LT1358 is emotional, smooth and warm-toned, with heavenly mid-bass and polish at the high edges.
(used here as second amplifier stage and to drive the output circuit)
§ LT1364 is punching bass and dynamic (used here to provide output current).
All chips in my amplifier are bipolar (no use of FET !)
