Elizabeth W.K.
Big Pasture Cemetery, Jane M. Stratton
As nearly as I could make out, the inscription reads:
Jane M.
Wife of
G. W. Stratton
died Oct. 30, 1856,
Aged 21 years, 2 months,
& 30 days
Beyond death's gate above this height
Sweet Jane dwells an Angel bright
Freed from all grief and pain she strikes a harp of gold
And tunes the gentle voice we loved
To offer praise of Him whose suffering brought
?able joy, eternity to her unfold
In that last line there were 4 or 5 letters before "able" . I could not make them out and can't think of what word might fit there. Anybody have any ideas? Immutable? Ineffable?
