Pleurothallis pectinata 'Champagne Bubbles' CCM/AOS CBR/AOS

This orchid is grown upside down as the unusually beautiful, heart-shaped leaves hang straight down; you have to turn the leaves(which are rather cupped shaped as well) around so my hand was needed to facilitate the viewing of this unusual orchid. I received the awards back in 2009 when, as you can see, the plant was much smaller! The smaller leaf on the left is the newer/fresher of the two.....

Explanation of American Orchid Society (AOS) Awards:

CCM (Certificate of Cultural Merit)The beginning orchid grower may hope to attain this award because it recognizes the grower, rather than flower quality. The CCM/AOS may be given more than once if the plant continues to thrive and increase in both the size and number of flowers.

CBR (Certificate of Botanical Recognition)

Awarded to rare and unusual species with educational interest that has received no previous awards. The entire plant must be exhibited. This award is granted provisionally and filed with the judging center Chair pending taxonomic verification supplied by the exhibitor.
