In Nu'tka Douglas masterfully weaves together images and sound in a fictionalized version of encounters between Spanish and English colonial forces, both vying for access to land in the settling of what is now British Columbia. using texts from Gothic literature, the artist evokes the eerie vastness of the land. Occasionally the imagery and emerge from the historical, literary and artistic fragments.
