the two flags
March 26. Today. It's the (officially recognized) day on which Bangladesh declared its independence from Pakistan in 1971.
Anyone who survived the 9-month war that followed, till the country was liberated on 16 December that same year, will never forget and always hold the little flags hanging by a string in the foreground close to their hearts. The green and red flag that's on the car (without the map of the country in yellow/gold), is what my country's flag came to look like soon after the birth of the nation. And, just like we have two national days - one for Independence (26 March) and the other for Victory (16 December) - we have two flags, one under which we fought for our liberty and the other under which we grew as an independent nation.
The juxtaposition of the two flags in this image was just a chance, not a deliberately manipulated, occurrence.
