TWO ARRESTED IN POLICE CRACKDOWN ON ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR IN MOSTON
Sarah Keenan from the Adactus Tenancy Enforcement and Support Team joined partner agencies on the evening of Friday 4th February 2011 to assist with Operation Lockdown on the Moston Estate.
Sarah joined Greater Manchester Police, Northwards Wardens, Dog Wardens, Youth Workers, Street Environment Managers and Councillor Paul Murphy the chair of the Greater Manchester Police committee to help tackle anti-social behaviour in the Lightbowne area.
Sarah said: “I visited all the Adactus properties on Levens Street and Spreadbury Street along with a Police Constable and the Street Environment Manager. The visit was to gain intelligence about anti-social behaviour which is being committed in this area. We gained a few valuable leads and this is vital to help improve the area and create sustainability. “
Police arrested two men during this operation, the visibility was high with 25 officers flooding the Lightbowne Estate to tackle anti-social behaviour and low level street crime. Operation Lockdown was part of a campaign to have high visibility on the streets and make residents feel safe and secure.
Inspect Gareth Parkin of the Harpurhey and Moston Police said: Operation Lockdown is a very effective tactic we as partners adopt to tackle crime and ASB.
