ana5.0 courtyard view 2

A group of my traveling companions surveys the interior quadrangle of the Nunnery. The omnipresent Pyramid of the Magician is in the background.

Puuc buildings are similar to ranch houses in their simple layout: wide and single-story. The buildings themselves are divided into two long rectangles. The lower rectangle is plain, while the upper is ornamented in obsessive, repetitious and beautiful patterns.

My plan for the next several pictures is to focus on the ornamentation, rather than on each building, since all of them follow similar planforms, but differ mainly in ornament.

To see the 3-D, use red/cyan glasses.

To read the QR code in the picture, use your smart phone and a scanner app. To find out more about QR codes, go to www.fredtruck.com, choose the Articles menu item, and select the Seals option.

To find out how I make these 3-D conversions, go to www.fredtruck.com, choose the Articles menu item and choose the Chromobinocular Method option.
