Temporary Housing
When Scottsdale embarked on the creation of the Indian Bend Wash (with the assistance of many others), temporary housing had to be found for those residents living in what would become the wash area. In the lowest reaches of the wash, this meant the Yaqui Indians. The Yaquis were brought into the area to help with the maintenance of the canals and help with other tasks. The Yaqui community remains a vibrant part of the Scottsdale community.
