Nine layers of sky

Explore: Aug 28, 2010. Thanks everyone :)

I'd been suspiciously watching the sky all day today, expecting the clouds to put on a show at sunset. They did not disappoint. In fact it was almost as if the clouds were hanging around just for sunset as they were gone almost as soon as the colour left the sky all together.

This was taken at Lake Samsonvale and is a three-shot vertically oriented panorama Stitched in PTGui. I discovered that using the Lee filter holder on my pano-head is a little tricky due to the large size of the holder. The holder cannot be rotated without sliding the camera forward on the rail first :( which is not a quick process. Bit of a problem as the colour bleeds from the sky before your eyes :P

Taken with a Canon EOS 40D, Sigma 10-20mm and a Lee 0.9 hard grad.
