I made these oval, earthy, green and tan, handmade, handcrafted, classic, one of a kind, woman’s earrings, which measure a total of 2.25 inches. The dangle is 1.75 inches long and is made of malachite, fluorite, Czech glass, and seed beads. The dangle hangs from 14kt gold-filled French hook ear wires. As with all my earrings, you can choose ear posts or others types of ear studs/wires, others types even for non-pierced ears. I make carefully to ensure they are of high quality. Folklore says malachite has been a talisman for children to keep them safe. If a piece of this stone were attached to an infant's cradle, all evil spirits were held aloof and the child slept soundly and peacefully. It is said that it can give a warning of approaching disaster by breaking into several pieces. Malachite was considered to be a protection from danger of falling.
According to folklore, fluorite was once thought to be the "home of the rainbow" due to the crystal's wide range of colors. In matters of health, in the 18th century, a mixture of water and powdered Fluorite was used to alleviate the symptoms of kidney disease. Today it is most often used metaphysically to enhance and clarify thought processes, and also as a protection stone. Fluorite may require regular cleansing and is best recharged by wind or water, preferably outside on a clear breezy day or in a clear running stream or brook.
