A cold, wet, late 79
Woke up this A.M. to find a message from Shawn Conrad- Union Pacific's LPA79 had spent the better part of 3 hrs at a grade crossing near Port Washington. The reason why is unknown, but because of this, I knew there'd be a good chance I could catch them on my way into work. As I approached the yard at 5:45 A.M. I was pleased to see a headlight, I pulled in by Alpine Insulation and set up my window attaching camera mount and took a couple of time exposures in this Lakeshore snow squall. And yes, it was just as cold and windy as it looks! Within seconds, the crew headed off to the far end of South Yard to put their train together.
