Tic Tac Toe

As a novice photographer, I think it's hard not to come up with a good comp here at Valley View. An original comp? A lot harder. This particular visit to Yosemite, we were plagued with a lack of clouds, which helped us with Horsetail Fall, but nothing else.
Alas, this day, while it started out promising with some clouds, by sunset there were no clouds at all to hold any color. Instead, we got these contrails. But the contrails were nothing compared to the two idiots who hiked into the field across the river from all of us taking shots here. I have no idea what they were shooting. If it was Bridal Veil Falls, well, it was in shadow. If it was this view, really, the comp over there is probably more boring. Argh! We figured that the guys across the river were oblivious or didn't give a s*#%. In my cynical view of the world, it was the latter. This just means I need to return again, and maybe the conditions will be right for a fantastic shot. The view is still incredible, even with contrails. I guess I should be happy that sunset sucked. Because I would've been really mad if those guys had been in my shot.
