WW2 Pillbox, Great Saling, Essex

An unusual WW2 pillbox built at low level and set into a wall near the roadside at Great Saling in Essex.

The entrance into the pillbox is on the other side of the wall. Note the brick removed from above the pillbox, to provide a spy-hole.

Also nearby (on the far side of the wall) was a round base made of concrete for a spigot mortar, and the crumbling remains of a blast wall that had once stood around it.
