The bearing retainer goes on next. It presses easily into place. You'll feel it snap into the groove in the cup. Removal of this is a little tricky when disassembling. I used a pick to get the first one out, but had to use needle nose pliers to get the second out. If using needle nose pliers grab one side of the retainer right next to the split and pull toward the center of the bearing cup circumference. It should come out of the groove and then you can work the rest of the retainer out.
