Just a personal statement
After I read the "Vomit post" from tibiloo (I can´t find anymore...hum) and this post from Jillybug , these topics did not get out of my head the last days! For the most of you I am unknown and new in the Blythe collector world, but I am a toy collector since years and have seen and heard a lot. I loved toys and mainly dolls when I was a child and so I came across Lundby dollhouses and Käthe Kruse dolls. I collected both for a while and since the last two years I discovered BJDs and also Blythe… So I really understand what´ s going on and why some of you miss the innocent days of Blythe, when it all began. But I think this hobby developed like a lot hobbies when they get popular! People go insane and spent tooo much money on things they want just because they can or others have them and so they have to have them too… Crazy!
I always tried not to get soaked up by all this and not to be bothered by other people behaviours! If I focus on the negative aspects it makes me unhappy! Maybe it sounds a bit buddhistic, but like others here I try to be happy with the things I have and to be just thankful. I have never been rich because I am a single mum since years and just try to make a living with my little income from being a freelance designer and with a part time job… so even if I want to, I can not spent much money on my hobby! And I know even if I could I would not, because getting more and more does not satisfy me at the end!
But what I really want to say is, that the best thing for me in collecting in general and Blythe specifically is: FRIENDSHIP!! You can collect the cutest dolls, dress them up in the loveliest way, take the sweetest pics ever, but when there is no one out there, who shares the happiness with you it is just the half fun! And I don´t need tons of comments under my pics, I´ m happy when there are a few from people who I know and like! So let´ s appreciate friendship and forget the rest!
Thank you all my sweet, creative and lovely collector friends out there!! It´s so good to have you!!
And why this pic?! Because all these great things were send to me from Kewty-pie, who isn´t just one of the generous persons I know, she is also a very good flickr friend to me and one of the loveliest toy collecters, with a great collection I know!!
