Anystid mite? - Crop
Anystid mite (ANYSTIDAE) Whirligig Mite
Heavily cropped due to the minute size of the subject.
This little guy was fast and very hard to get a fix on. He was also TINY, see my other photo to get a true sense of scale.
If I have classified this insect incorrectly please tell me!
The Gear
--> Nikon D90
--> Nikon AF 50MM F1.8D lens
--> PK-13 extension tube (so full manual exposure and focusing)
--> Nissin R50A Ring Lite (modified to fit into cokin filter holder - unless someone out there has a 53mm-->52mm step-down ring...)
--> pc-sync cable to hotshoe mounted SB-15 (no batteries, just to fire the ring lite)
