Canadian Armed Forces - Rescue Specialist qualification badges
Post "Para Rescue" although we still referred to ourselves as Para Rescue. Pre Search and Rescue Technician (SAR Tech).
The wings on the top left and bottom right are Type 2 wings while the remainder are Type 1. The metal wing top middle was for wear on short sleeve shirts (although we wore it on all shirts usually). The bottom middle wing was intended for wear on mess kit. The two top outer wings were intended for wear on flight clothing and work dress(garrison) jackets but some wore it on work dress shirts as well. The bottom outer wings were meant to be worn on best dress jackets but because we had to buy these ones many chose not to wear them. The type one mylar (gold wire) were of a particularly poor quality so guys often had them made up on their own, which of course lead to a variety of unofficial, spurious or outright fake wings.
The tartan is Air Force tartan.
