KLFI (Langley Air Force Base / Joint Base Langley-Eustis) - 21 FEB 2015
This second prototype YF-15A (F-15A-1-MC) aircraft was acquired from the USAF on December 17, 1975 for use by NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center, where it was used for the aerodynamic testing of the shuttle's thermal protection tiles. It was returned to the Air Force on October 28, 1983 and mounted on a pedestal for display at Langley AFB.

Temperature was 37 degrees, quite warm after the cold that we had for the past week with highs in the teens and lows in the single digits. The snow fell on Monday & Tuesday last week - 4-5 days prior.
