Those saved pennies were worthless.

The skies churn overhead, growling with the beast's hunger and thunder, howling with the monster's pain and wind. Lightening flashes like teeth. The world trembles, the leaves quiver on their branches and the grassy fields shiver for miles. Then the world grows silent, the stillness before the inevitable. It as if the world holds it breath it is so quiet.

And then the jaws of the beast open to devour us and the storm is upon us in full force. It rains in torrents, lashing at the earth with its fury. It roars and rages. And I stand alone in the center of it all.
