I miss those easy summer days, lying out in the cool grass, feeling it itch on my bare skin, letting the sweat pool beneath me in the small of my back. I miss dancing in those summer showers in the middle of the street, turning in loose lazy circles because I had nothing else to do, unafraid because there was no one else around. I miss the way the shadows would pool as the sun would set, long and deep as they stretched from every surfaces. I miss the way the light seemed to turn everything into gold and the days had that priceless, endless quality. I miss those nights, when we would drive too fast, sing too loud, and go nowhere at all. I miss those nights, warm enough to wander around barefoot and we'd lie out in that same itchy grass to count the imaginary stars through the foggy night. I miss those summer days, I miss those summer nights. I miss the easiness, the breeziness, the happiness.
