Chatsworth Hunting Tower

We've been to Chatsworth many times, over the years and seen the tower in Stand Wood, above the house - but this was the first time we've been up close.

The tower was built in 1582 for Bess of Hardwick as a banqueting or summerhouse and was also used by the ladies to watch the hunt. What I didn't realise is that it it now available to rent as a holiday cottage.

A couple more shots below. One of a full view of the tower and the other of part of the extensive view from the Hunting Tower - you can just about see a glimpse of the house in the centre and the tower of Edensor church, towards the top, right.
