Clyde - the protector
Clyde, taking over nest duties at Dunham Massey last week. He's done most of the nest building and does his fair share of sitting - except when there are Geese to clear off the pool! If he's in a particularly bad mood, the ducks get chased too!
The first 3 shots below were taken over the last couple of weeks and were rather far away and well cropped, so maybe not as sharp as I'd like - but they do give an idea of all the action! The last one was taken today - Bonnie was sitting when I arrived and got up briefly to re-arrange the nest, giving me my first glimpse of this years eggs. Three are visible but there may well be more tucked under the grasses. She tucked them all up, out of sight, before leaving the nest until Clyde took over a few minutes later.
