Wispy Dione and Fuzzy Titan

Composite of raw images of Saturn's moon Dione in front of Titan as captured by the Cassini spacecraft on December 7, 2011 from a distance of 1.6 million km.

To make this image, separate RGB mosaic of Dione was made and combined with a separate RGB image of Titan (which itself was modified to highlight the haze layer using Screen blend of the blue filtered image). Both were blended (using luminosity and color filters) with a black and white RED filtered image that showed Dione in front of Titan (here: saturn.jpl.nasa.gov/multimedia/images/raw/casJPGFullS71/N...).
