Molly b' Dam
1853 Molly was born December 26th in Dublin
Ireland as Maggie Hall to an english father
and an Irish Catholic mother.
1873 Age 20, 5'6", golden hair, blue eyes, and
shapely figure. Journeyed to America,
landing in New York.
1874 Aprox.-Married a handsome man named
Burdan. Changed her name to Molly.
His excessive money spending caused her
to turn to "entertaining other men."
1877 Age 24, left her husband and traveled
west to such areas as San Fransisco, Oregon,
Chicago, Virginia City Nevada, and the Dakota
territories. She became highly skilled at her
new profession.
1884 Age 30. Traveled to Murray via the Thompson
Pass on a horse. On her trip, saved a woman
and child from a blizzard by stopping in a
battered shelter using her fur coat to warm
them through the night.
Met Phil O'Rourke and introduced herself as
Molly Burdan. He thought it was "Molly b' Dam
and the legend began.
