Coyote hustling up a hill in John McLaren Park San Francisco 20250219-170619
I made this photo of a coyote quickly moving up a hill as Melody and I entered John McLaren Park during our daily walk on February 19, 2025. We only saw this wild animal for a few seconds. Since I was carrying my camera on a strap around my wrist, I was able to activate the camera a grab this shot just before the coyote was hidden by the bushes. No the greatest shot in the world, but time was of the essence to even get this. There are signs in many parts of San Francisco about coyotes. Today the signs were not there but the coyote was. I shot this on the spur of the moment using the live view articulating monitor on my Canon Powershot SX50. This animal of prey looks like he has been eating well.
