Waxing Crescent Moon in Pisces from San Francisco 20240212-183036
I made this and the previous photo of the waxing crescent moon in Pisces on the evening of Feb 12, 2024 from the parking lot of a Post Office in San Francisco. I always need to use spot focus when shoot such a slim bright object against a massive dark night background. I usually also set my camera to infinity, something I forgot to do with these two shots. No matter since I had zoomed the my Canon Powershot SX50 to full 1200mm focal length. This is a hand held image capture, looking through the view finder while leaning against my car.
