I made this photo of the First Quarter Moon less than an hour before posting it on Flickr April 27, 2023. I am not usually looking into the sky at night but Thursday is when our block puts out the compost, recycling, and waste carts after 9PM. No garbage cart this week, but I saw this moon through wispy clouds when I put out the other two carts. I took this from the top of the front stairs of our San Francisco home, using aperture preferred, spot focus, and full focal length set at infinity. This is a handheld shot using my Canon Powershot SX50.
