First Quarter Moon Giant Jun 18, 2021 an hour after midnight from San Francisco 20210618-010025

Unless the moon phase is well publicized, most of my moon photography is happenstance, as I don't seek moon photography. This is what happened just after 1am on June 18, 2021. I had stayed up late preparing our recycling, trash, and compost bins to set out in front of our San Francisco home for Friday morning collection. This First Quarter Moon giant presented itself in the western horizon when I opened our garage door. I actually made this photo from the top of our front stairs before going to bed. It took three tries to find an acceptable exposure. Shot using my Canon Powershot SX50.
