Morning after full Cold Moon Dec 2018 20181223-081711 cw50 C4
I made this horizontal shot 14 seconds before the same photo taken vertically in the next slide. This is the scene on the morning after the full Cold Moon. My vantage point was Emeryville California in the East Bay just over the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge. I was on my way to Sacramento, California's state capitol about 100 miles east of our San Francisco home. I had taken pictures of the Cold Moon on the two previous nights. The moon was visible in the western sky after I crossed the bridge. To not be distracted while driving, I exited the freeway and found a parking lot on the other side of the highway. It was cold and misty. I let the moon be overexposed to better capture the rest of the landscape. You can see by the exposure, they camera sensed a low light situation though it was nearly mid morning. I shot this using my Canon Powershot SX50, the camera I carry with me at all times and the only one I took on this trip.
