I made this photo of Dec 2018 Cold Moon the night after it was full. I had spent the day in Sacramento helping a long time friend and had taken photos of the still nearly full Cold Moon on my way from San Francisco to Sacramento. This is the second of a series of four images that I captured during the night of December 23, 2018 on my way back home. The moon was sometimes covered so much as to almost completely darken it, coming back out with a misty glow around it. To capture the glow, I set my camera on spot and infinity focus so I could expose for the seeming mist around the moon. I shot this image from Sacramento California using my Canon Powershot SX50.
