San Francisco Sunset taken from front stairs through heavy smoke caused by North Bay wild fires 20171011-165021 C4 SF
I took this photo from the front porch of our San Francisco home. The sun was setting through heavy smoke caused by multiple wildfires about 50 miles north of San Francisco. Taken on October 11, this photo was when the North Bay wildfires were in their early stages when the death count was in the teens and houses burned to the ground numbered 2,700. I am posting this photo three days later as the fires have continued to spread and have burned over 200,00 acres - 81 hectors. Though the photo has some allure, it is nonetheless eerie and ominous. I shot this using my Canon Powershot SX50 keeping a tiny part of a neighbor's home in the bottom of the photo.
