Male house finch bird perched on a branch in San Francisco back yard 20170512-151248 C4V
This is a photo of a male house finch that has sticks close to our backyard. This may be the mate of the female that has hatched at least three baby birds in a net built in the rafters of our deck just 2 meters from our back door. The male is protective of its mate and the birds in the nest and are very vocal when Melody and I are out and about in our yard. I shot this using the telephoto capabilities of my Canon Powershot SX50. As an aside, it was rather windy on this particular mid afternoon. It is remarkable how these birds are able to hang on when the wind is buffeting them. This is the original of a previously posted photo that was cropped.
