I made this and the previous photo within 17 seconds of each other. Though the previous one looks like it was taken at night, the view was actually like this one taken from Emeryville California, just across the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge. In order to properly expose the bay waters and Mt Tamalpais in the foreground, I needed to overexpose the moon at the top of the image. I shot this using my Canon Powershot SX50, which was the only camera I took with me on this trip to visit Sacramento, about 90 miles from home.
