Oregon late night 98 percent full Moon smoky conditions 20090804-231020 C4

This is a photo of a 98 percent full moon taken on August 4, 2009 on a smokey night after I had visited Crater Lake Oregon just hours before. During this trip through five western states USA, there were forest fires in every state I visited, including California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Nevada. Though the moon looks clear in this photo - taken a little after 11 PM - there was still lots of smoke in the air. Photo made with my Canon Powershot SX10 super zoom camera that I was carrying at the time.
