Captured this image of a sign for Mono Lake California on hill overlooking the lake. You can see desert between our vantage point and the Negit and Poaha Islands in waters of Mono Lake. Though this image is published at the beginning of the Mono Lake series of photos, it was actually taken the day we left the area as we were making a beeline for our accommodations in the town of Lee Vining when we arrived a couple of days earlier. I like this photo because it gives a good overall view of the area.
