Yellow headed Blackbird on Tufa on Mono Lake path to and from South Tufa visitor parking area 20110924-174513 C4

Captured this image of a Yellow Headed Blackbird standing proud on top of a Tufa Tower on the South Tufa trail on the first day in the area. Many birds make Mono Lake their home at various times throughout the year - waterbirds and shorebirds alike. The birds in this photo are facing the sun as it begins to slide behind the mountains to the west.

Image captured with a Canon Powershot SX30.
